Vripack Unveils the Interior Design of the Moonen 122 Martinique

The new Moonen 122 Martinique interior from Vripack Yacht Design is the fourth successful collaboration between Dutch studio Vripack and Moonen. The collaboration combines Vripack's creative flair with Moonen's craftsmanship, and the redesigned interior is designed to enhance the onboard experience, showcasing the essence of Dutch design principles.

Unveiled at the 2025 Palm Beach International Boat Show, Vripack's new interpretation of the Moonen Martinique offers a sophisticated and lively twist on a unique style, underscoring the strong partnership between the two brands.

Marnix Hoekstra, Vripack's co-creative director, commented, “We were given the freedom to come up with something completely original for this sophisticated series of yachts, and we saw it as an opportunity to celebrate our shared Dutch heritage, which is more than just designing a beautiful space; it's about creating an experience rooted in Dutch values -- craftsmanship, innovation and authenticity.”

Matthew and Louise Baxter, owners of Moonen Yachts, are equally enthusiastic: “Working with Marnix and his team has enabled us to combine Vripack's world-class design with our exacting manufacturing standards. We believe that their vision and our expertise combine to create an interior that is both visually appealing and functionally superior.”

The yacht's interior utilizes three key materials - wood, leather and brass - to create a serene and captivating atmosphere. Warm mid-century light tapes and grays are complemented by a satin finish, while dark walnut furniture adds a touch of sophistication to the interior. The antique copper mirror on the main ceiling of the salon is a 17th-century Dutch masterpiece that subtly amplifies the sense of space and light.

The dining room incorporates the iconic colors of Dutch Delft pottery, with deep-toned blue chairs and a striking hand-painted mural that depicts scenes from the Dutch landscape come to life. The mural's deliberately designed “torn edges” showcase the whimsy unique to Dutch design, inspiring guests to interact imaginatively with the space.

The main deck lobby stands out with vibrant turquoise walls, mirrored ceilings and antique bronze accents, creating a unique atmosphere in the owner's suite. Inside, the suite's reconfigured king-size bed faces aft, allowing guests to enjoy 180-degree views of the ocean and a unique connection to their surroundings. This seemingly minor adjustment has transformed the suite into a haven of peace and tranquility, a place for relaxation and contemplation.

Four additional staterooms on the lower deck continue the sophisticated simplicity of the design. The beds are wrapped in supple light taupe leather, and the ensuite features a chunky Belvedere quartzite sink. Thoughtful design details, such as a desk in the VIP stateroom that doubles as a vanity with added storage space, meet the needs of the modern traveler.

The Sky Lounge, the social heart of the yacht, combines comfort and style. A bioethanol fireplace surrounded by cream-colored marble invites guests to linger, while full-height bi-folding doors blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Framed television screens display Monet-inspired artwork, and built-in cabinetry showcases personal treasures, adding warmth and personality to the space.

Hoekstra notes, “This project was less of a collaboration and more of a co-creation, and Moonen's carpentry team knows how to translate design concepts into tangible results, and their attention to detail is exceptional. Their willingness to experiment and innovate allowed us to turn abstract inspiration into something tangible and beautiful.”

The collaboration between Vripack and Moonen demonstrates the spirit of cooperation that drives contemporary yacht design. Together they have created an interior that reflects the boldness and sophistication of the Dutch, shaping the yacht to be both timeless and contemporary.

With an extensive portfolio of more than 7,400 designs, Vripack is a yacht design studio that draws on its deep experience in naval architecture and engineering. Since its founding in 1961, the Vripack studio's design philosophy has been centered on the delicate interaction between form and function.
