The world-class yacht marina in Bali, Indonesia, is expected to open in 2025

PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) has signed an agreement with Indonesian port company Pelindo to establish the first international-standard integrated yacht marina in Indonesia. The marina is located at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub, just a 15-minute drive from the airport.

The new marina will provide 180 wet berths, capable of accommodating over 50 luxury yachts up to 90 meters in length. Additionally, the project will feature a modern yacht service area equipped with a 200-ton lift and high-quality fueling facilities.

Construction of the marina is currently underway and is expected to welcome its first yachts by July 2025. By mid-2026, the full yacht capacity of the marina will be operational. Currently, a temporary mooring system has been established to accommodate 30 yachts up to 17 meters in length.

Ulf Backlund, President Director of Marina Development Indonesia, stated, “Indonesia deserves a top-tier yacht marina to showcase its status as a new global yachting paradise.” He noted that Indonesia’s unique geographical location keeps it safe from hurricanes and typhoons, combined with its 17,000 islands, stunning dive sites, diverse cultures, and favorable climate, making such developments highly promising.

Backlund added, “This marina will attract yacht enthusiasts from around the world, opening up new journeys to explore the natural beauty of the world’s largest archipelago.”

MDI is working closely with several international companies on this project, including Sweden’s SF Marina, which specializes in the design and construction of floating breakwaters and concrete pontoons. MDI has also partnered with Italy’s Plus Marine to provide power and water facilities for the marina’s intelligent cloud remote monitoring system.

Discovery Luxury Indonesia will offer a range of luxurious services for yacht owners and their crew, including onboard and onshore experiences as well as comprehensive logistical support. Marina yacht owners will enjoy facilities such as a yacht club, modern yacht services, fuel stations, luxury hotels, and entertainment and commercial areas that encompass retail, office, and dining services.

Arif Suhartono, President Director of Pelindo, stated, “The new marina in Bali embodies our vision of positioning Indonesia as a key player in the global marine industry, combining luxury experiences, services, safety, and world-class infrastructure.”

Joko Noerhudha, President Director of Pelindo Solusi Logistik, mentioned, “This marina will not only attract international yacht owners but also provide an excellent base for domestic vessels, promoting tourism and economic growth in Indonesia.”

Captain Thomas Taatjes, manager of Asia Pacific Superyachts Indonesia, summed it up, saying, “We are thrilled to learn that Bali will have a large, world-class yacht marina during our meeting with the project leaders. This news has already become a reality.”
