Tankoa Launches 52m S520 Superyacht Model Concept

At this year's Palm Beach International Boat Show, renowned Italian boat builder Tankoa Yachts reintroduced a new 52-meter model. This latest addition, the S520, is a bold “reinvention” of the highly popular S501 series. Just last year, the sixth yacht in the S501 series, the 49.9-meter Rilassata, was launched, and the design of the S520 is still in the hands of Francesco Paszkowski Studio. The Italian design studio has cleverly taken the “winning proportions” and athletic lines of the S501 series and incorporated them into a new, larger, “gun-metal gray” exterior.

The addition of the LOA has optimized the outdoor space. The sun deck has been increased in length and width, and an infinity pool has been added; the upper deck's sky lounge has been enlarged, and the flybridge has been lengthened further. The aft section is the centerpiece of the entire yacht, cleverly connecting the main deck, the aft platform and the beach club. It is worth noting that the Beach Club has a staggered layout with a sunbathing area. Thanks to the openable platforms on both sides and the multiple portholes, one of which faces the infinity pool, this area is extremely light and bright.

In terms of practicality, the S520 also brings a number of innovative elements. The bow has an integrated dinghy crane, the aft platform has a built-in gangway, and the starboard box has been relocated to port, an adjustment that greatly expands the upper deck space and makes it an exclusive entertainment area. In addition, the forward part of the upper deck is dedicated to the storage of yacht toys.

The yacht's living space is the result of a collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini. The two designers have recently collaborated on the design of the 58-meter fully customized yacht Diamond Binta. On the S520, higher ceilings and larger windows allow for a brighter interior than on the S501. At the same time, the interior is “uniquely modern” with a gray color scheme that subtly extends the exterior theme to the interior. Onboard accommodation includes a spacious master suite with separate lounge, study, walk-in closet and dressing area.

Tankoa Yachts currently has nine superyacht projects on order or under construction, the largest of which is a 56-meter yacht commissioned by a “young American couple”.

This year, Tankoa Yachts made a splash at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. In addition to the launch of the new S520 model, it celebrated the world premiere of the 45-meter yacht Go and the debut of Diamond Binta in the U.S. market after participating in the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.
