Riva Yachts Brand Introduction

Riva Yachts, founded in 1842 in Italy, is a world-renowned yacht brand specializing in the production of open flybridge motor yachts ranging from 8 to 50 meters in length. It is now part of the Weichai Holding Group. The secret of Riva's enchanting style lies in its consistent and unique construction techniques. In 1842, on Lake Iseo, a sudden hurricane destroyed the fishing fleet. Fortunately, a young shipbuilder performed a miracle by repairing most of the vessels, earning the respect and admiration of the local residents.

This young man was Mr. Pietro Riva. From then on, the legend of Riva yachts was born. When he arrived in the town of Sarnico, Mr. Pietro Riva became the master of his own destiny. He established his own shipyard here and launched the first Riva yachts, which quickly stood out for their elegance and personality. Riva quickly gained a good reputation. Mr. Pietro's son, Ernesto, inherited his father's business and led the shipyard to continue to thrive, introducing advanced technologies such as internal combustion engines. At this time, the era of large passenger and cargo ships on the lake had arrived.

In May 2000, the Ferretti Group acquired Riva Shipyard, guiding the brand back to its pioneering position in the international yacht industry, becoming a recognized benchmark for Italian luxury yachts. This wonderful journey originated from the expertise of the Group's engineering department and the artistic sensitivity of designer Mauro Michel. Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta co-founded the Italian design studio (Oficina Italiana Design), responsible for designing all Riva series yachts.

In the same year, the Aquariva yacht was launched, encapsulating the new generation of brand DNA within its 33-foot hull: uniqueness, innovation, and distinctive style concentrated in this revolutionary product of engineering, reliability, and performance. In 2012, the Ferretti Group announced a new major shareholder: the Shandong Heavy Industry Group (Weichai Group) from China. Weichai Group is a true industrial giant. Its strength and strategic vision propelled Riva to new heights, ensuring the planning and utilization of brand projects and resources.

In 2014, the establishment of the New Riva Super Yacht Division marked the brand's return to the megayacht sector. Inspired by Mr. Carlo Riva, Riva is moving towards the dream of realizing light-alloy displacement super yachts. In the 1960s and 1970s, Mr. Carlo Riva created the Caravelle and Atlantic series of super yachts. From 1970 to 1978, the Marco Polo series introduced six motor yachts, each over 20 meters in length. Additionally, two Vespucci yachts, measuring 90 feet and 100 feet respectively, were constructed.

Riva's product offerings include open, coupe, and flybridge yachts ranging from 8 to 50 meters in length.
