Mochicraft Yachts Brand Introduction
The Italian brand MochiCraft is an iconic Italian yacht brand successfully moulded with the desire to rebuild a close relationship with the sea. It belongs to the Faraday Group, which combines vintage classics with modern technology, setting trends and innovations in the industry.
Founded in the 1960s by Luciano Mochi Zamperoli, the MochiCraft brand began in Pesaro and then moved to the industrial area of Fano, where it was acquired by the Faraday Group in November 2001, after decades of supplying flybridge yachts to the predominantly Italian and German markets. This new head office began introducing a new line of yachts for the brand, the Dolphin, a modern line of lobster boats with a New England historical flavour.
In 2003, the Dolphin 51 model was announced as Moses Craft's first gliding lobster boat. Its creation gave shape to the concept of a new line that would reinterpret a longing for the past through a love of the sea, while combining the exceptional glamour of classic yachts with the cutting-edge technological research of the Faraday Group. This reinterpretation is also reflected in the brand's logo, where a dolphin surrounded by a circle replaces the image of the swordfish of the past.
In a few short years, MochiCraft has produced a range of gliding motor yachts from 44 to 74 feet, entirely manufactured at the Foley shipyard, where the Group's headquarters are located. The brand has become a trend-setter in generational design and cutting-edge technology.
The quest for perfection never ends. That's why the MochiCraft brand always aims for advanced solutions. Regardless of the sea conditions, the yachts produced are optimised in terms of performance, safety, comfort and reliability. The AYT&D Advanced Yacht Technology and Design Centre, the research, style and product development arm of the Faraday Group, is a strong support for this commitment. The Group's ARG anti-rocking gyro system, developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, ensures the comfort and stability of the yacht. This specialised technology reduces hull sway caused by waves by more than 50 per cent.
In addition, the Dolphin Series proprietary keel, designed by AYT&D and Victory Design, has a hydrodynamic efficiency that is superior to that of other slalom yachts, ensuring excellent outboard reliability and comfort. Moses Craft Yachts employs advanced hydrodynamic computing equipment, the most powerful computational system for evaluating fluid particle motion below the keel. This technology has been the mainstay of the standard development system for all Faraday Group yachts since long before it was used to design the America's Cup boats.
The philosophy of the MochiCraft brand is also reflected in the research of shapes and materials that have shaped the iconic ‘Italian’ style and perfection of the yachts. The strong character of each of its yachts comes from the never-ending creativity of the founder of Victory Design, designer Brunello Acampora, and the skilled craftsmen who are able to combine form and function. Dedication to the yacht-building process, careful planning of the interior and exterior, the desire for perfection in every detail, and cutting-edge solutions combine to create a series of truly nautical and iconic yachts from the brand.
